The firm was founded in 2014 by partners Hugo Menezes and Edward Wygand, who combined strong performance in the field of corporate law and equity organization with extensive experience in financial market, to provide personalized service to entrepreneurs and their businesses, personal and professional.

The growing demand at the national level led the office, originally from Rio de Janeiro, to also establish itself in the cities of Cuiabá and São Paulo, strategic for expanding activity and greater proximity to clients, in order to guarantee quality in service provision.

On the international scene, a network of partners was built for operations abroad and the development of operations in accordance with various legal systems around the world.

In recent years, the office has been restructured and has become a reference in the Wealth area , with a multidisciplinary team, integrated and committed to excellence in providing services to each client.

After further restructuring of the firm, in 2022, Hugo chose to focus the firm’s activities on three prominent areas – Wealth, Corporate and Compliance – , forming a multidisciplinary and experienced team.

The Wealth area covers patrimonial and succession organization, both in Brazil and abroad, with the scope of work being expanded in special segments, notably Adult Protection and various cases related to Family Law.

Our international operations have always been based on in-depth technical knowledge and agility in providing services. Our team has extensive experience working outside Brazil, experiencing the local culture and legal customs in several countries, such as the United States, Portugal, Italy, France, Germany and Caribbean jurisdictions. Thus, the Corporate team , in addition to the corporate day-to-day, sought to optimize its knowledge and performance in the international area, previously focused on the organization of family assets, to embrace Private International Law, helping businessmen in Brazil and abroad who intend to expand their commercial relations across borders.

Finally, our Compliance vein came to the fore with the development of integrity programs and legal advice to incorporate current compliance programs such as data protection legislation and the global ESG agenda.
