Our latest Spotlight is on NewCo. Latam an accounting practice born of the consideration for the growing demand for specialised consulting services in Brazil due to the increase of foreign investors intending to make their debut in the Brazilian market. Arcilon Rocha answers our questions.

In your opinion, what is the future for your profession?
The future of the accounting profession lies in rapid adaptation to the reality of the new market. Accountants must come out from behind their desks to produce content on social media. Firms must seek a niche market. In addition, partners must learn how to manage human resources from other generations well. Finally, the accountant will have to implement artificial intelligence in office operations more frequently.

What is your growth strategy?
We are currently using a growth strategy based on posting videos in English on YouTube and blogging, as well as partnerships with other consultants, law firms, and chambers of commerce.

Where do you see your firm 5 years from now?
Our strategy of providing a service to a niche market is pioneering in Brazil. Therefore, we hope that in the future, our firm will be a market reference for other professionals. However, innovation is in our DNA. We have other innovative ideas that we plan to implement that could also become good case studies.

What is your biggest challenge?
At the moment, our main challenge is gaining the trust of potential new clients. We are a startup, and we know that it is not easy to hire or change an accountant for an office that was opened in less than one year of operation.

What percentage of your work is international?
At the moment, 60% of our services are for international clients. But our goal is to reach between 80% to 90% of international clients.

What business advisory services do you offer?
Regarding consultancy, our main service is the economic viability study of the business and tax studies for individuals and legal entities. We also offer business incorporation, bookkeeping, tax calculation and filing, and BPO.

What was your main driver for being part of BOKS International?
I really liked this community spirit, where we can share and learn technical issues and management tips. It is also great to have access to an international contact network so we can consult and make recommendations for our customers.

Where do you see BOKS International 5 years from now?
See Boks as a strong name in the financial consultancy market. If they continue with this good management, they will have more quality members in the future, bringing better results for everyone in the community.

How would you describe your typical client?
Our typical client is a foreign non-resident looking for a one-stop-shop solution to open and operate their Brazilian subsidiary smoothly. This client wants to focus on the business and leave all the rest to our firms.

How do you target clients who are looking for international services?
We are currently investing efforts in social networks, mainly Google and YouTube. But we also look for partners with law firms and chambers of commerce

Do you specialise in a particular sector or service?
Our service is focused on serving foreigners. As Startups, foreign entrepreneurs or investors who want to open their business in Brazil need an office that can offer a one-stop-shop solution, providing bookkeeping, legal representatives, consultants, tax services, a commercial address, and many other services that help non-residents incorporate and run a business in Brazil.
