At the end of September, BOKS International hosted its first Annual Global Conference since 2019 in Toronto, Canada. More than 50 delegates attended the event, which feedback informs us was a huge success. The formal and informal networking sessions were highly productive, as new member connections were made and existing relationships strengthened, while the keynote and panel sessions were very well-received. The conference wrapped with a ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ trip to Niagra Falls.

Says Alliance Director Richard Sergeant: “The atmosphere at the conference in Toronto was fantastic. The enthusiasm and energy brought by delegates are testaments to the BOKS membership’s quality and demonstrate that what we are collectively building is something special and very significant. The commitment made by delegates, some of whom travelled many hours to attend, highlights the alliance members’ attitude and presents great promise for the future. Next year’s conference will be even bigger and better! We are extremely excited about the future of the alliance.”

Day 1

Day one kicked off with a welcome and introduction by Alliance Director Richard Sergeant before Global Growth Adviser Terry Snyder addressed the delegates. The remainder of the morning was dedicated to intensive speed networking. In the afternoon, regional groups got together, and then delegates heard keynote addresses from industry-leading guest speaker Keith Warburton, who discussed Global Business Culture, and Graham Durgan, who looked at The Firm of the Future.

Day 2

Day two began with a panel session which was followed by round table discussions. In the afternoon, we returned to the panel sessions before retired CEO at Wipfli, LLP, Rick Dreher, gave his keynote address on Firm Growth by Acquisition. The event ended with a session in which delegates gave their ‘statements of intent’ from lessons gained during the conference.
