Partner Katrin Kugler answers our questions.

In your opinion, what is the future for your profession?
The legal market continues to become more international, and our clients are increasingly subject to regulation. In addition, the legal market is changing with the development of technical possibilities, and the pace of this development is currently accelerating. In the future, we will be able to focus on providing substantial advice on complex issues.

 What is your growth strategy?
Growth is not an end in itself for us. However, we always are interested in colleagues who do first-class work and fit into our team. 

Where do you see your firm 5 years from now?
The share of international business in our firm will increase. We will continue to be one of the best law firms in employment law. Our specialist knowledge will have deepened even further.

What is your biggest challenge?
Keeping in touch with our clients even when we increasingly only see each other online. To find people who do very good work together, complement our firm well and fit well into our team. Finding a network that can be relied on nationally and internationally in terms of quality and cooperation.

What percentage of your work is international?
20% with strong growth in cross-border social security and cross-border tax consulting.

What business advisory services do you offer?
Employment law, compensation and benefits, social security law, corporate law, commercial law, tax law, commercial criminal law.

What was your main driver for being part of BOKS International?
We need to connect with foreign law and tax firms that have the same quality and cooperation standards as we do and that can answer our questions from other jurisdictions. For our part, we offer high quality and reliable work for foreign companies in Germany. Internationally we have grown through recommendations and wish that this network will contribute to this ongoing development.

Where do you see BOKS International 5 years from now?
Hopefully an agile, still flexible, and even stronger network, with good exchange, both professional and human.

How would you describe your typical client?
Companies up to listed companies for which we advise day-to-day business as well as special projects. In addition, also leading managers in every respect.

How do you target clients who are looking for international services?
Usually we are recommended.

Do you specialise in a particular sector or service?
We are 10 lawyers who deal exclusively with employment law and cover all conceivable aspects with great expertise in different areas of focus. Also our commercial and corporate lawyers have already been certified specialist attorneys for a long time and are very experienced. The major part of our commercial criminal law activities deals with violations of tax and employment regulations.
