In your opinion, what is the future for the accounting profession?
The future of the accounting profession in my opinion relies on the quality of the services provided to our clients and the ability to offer solutions tailored to the needs of each one, both assuring the tax compliance related to their activity as well as being capable to give answers that help them managing their businesses. Although accounting is an activity that we can consider conservative, the current technological developments offer several opportunities to develop with our clients a more direct relationship and providing instant feedback about the performance of our company’s clients, such as, using Business Intelligence platforms for example. Improving the connectivity with our clients is my opinion one of the most differential factors in our activity for the coming years

Our typical clients are small-medium companies that want to have an accounting and tax consulting partner that truly supports them in achieving their objectives. Tell us about a recent international assignment
Portugal is nowadays a very attractive place for foreign investment. With several fiscal benefits for investment, investigation and technological development, tourism and real estate renovation along with the “non habitual resident” status that can give a 10 year tax exemption from incomes generated outside Portugal and a 20% fixed rate for incomes generated in Portugal is particularly interesting for entrepreneurs, artists and pensioners. Portugal is also a country that is known for the quality of its human resources, high qualifications and good command of different languages, especially English which makes it an excellent choice for relocating or outsourcing. Perfinco have been working with many different international challenges, and is at the present moment, assisting the incorporation of a group of three companies with French and Swiss capital that will work in the business of carsharing and green mobility

How do you target clients who are looking for international services?
Most of our clients come from referrals, including those with international requirements.

Do you specialise in a particular sector or service?
Since the majority of our clients come from referrals we have a slight concentration in the sectors of health and IT. Approximately 40 % of our clients are from these two sectors.
